This is a video of one of those Green Goblin style jet-powered Flyboard Airs (previously) racing a jet ski in Naples, Florida. SPOILER: I'm pretty sure the hoverboard wins. I also read earlier this year that Zapata Industries, the company that developed these things (which can allegedly go 95MPH and reach an altitude of 10,000-feet -- now that's the video I want to see), was sold to Implant Sciences, a US based explosives detection firm. Does that mean we'll probably never get to own Flyboards of our own? Yes, that's exactly what that means. So close, yet so far away -- like Facetiming a closeup of your nips to a cross-country lover.
Assemblage artist Garret Kane just unveiled this new series of figurative sculptures depicting fractured individuals who appear to merge with the seasons. Each piece was first partially designed using digital sculpting software called Zbrush, and then 3D-printed components were affixed to wood, rocks, leaves, and other materials to reach the final forms seen here. You can see more views on his website.
Shah Cheragh is a funerary monument and mosque in Shiraz, Iran. It translates to “King of the Light” and it’s easy to understand why. The jaw-dropping interior of this structure has millions of tiny mirror shards which bounce the light in every direction.
