ARTLight ZoetropeArtist Akinori Goto came up with an even more enthralling take on zoetropes. He uses 3D printing to turn two-dimensional frames into a donut-shaped object. It looks like an abstract piece, but it reveals its animation when hit with a narrow beam of light.user removed

StyleAura Water PipeIt's called a pipe because it's far too classy to be called a bong. The Aura Water Pipe is a display-worthy smoking apparatus that's a far cry from the multi-colored glass of your youth. Its well-engineered design starts with the tapered glass chamber, topped by a single matte black part that forms the mouthpiece and downstem, the latter's length meant to enhance each hit. The mouthpiece also has a hidden storage area for your lighter, so you don't have to dig for it before each session, and the titanium bowl fits neatly inside, instead of hanging precariously out the front.Maciek Rudolf
StyleOchs Und Junior Perpetual Calendar WatchUsing a series of analog dots to represent the date instead of oversized windows, the Ochs Und Junior Perpetual Calendar Watch is able to present a wealth of information in an extremely clean design. The aforementioned dots represent the current year, month, and date, correctly displaying the date for every month — including February. The calendar requires just nine extra parts to function, and can be set easily from the crown. The 42mm titanium case, gears, patina dial, platinum hands, markers, and dots are all made in Switzerland, and the whole thing is assembled and regulated in-house by Sandra Flück.Jacob Kleficki
Home & DesignCerrado HouseSet at the foothils of Brazil's Serra da Moeda mountain range, the Cerrado House celebrates its surroundings with a stunning design and zero landscaping. The soaring height of the main living space's ceiling is further enhanced by huge expanses of glass, which can be covered on the northwest side by pivoting wooden louvers. Towards the rear of the house are the bedrooms and bathroom, while exposed stairs head up to the rooftop for access to the pool that forms the basis for the rest of the home's design.Marzena Pieńkowska-Szpunar
Home & DesignRainforest HouseSet on a mountainside overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the Rainforest House manages to blend into the surroundings despite it monolithic, rectangular design. Its layout is the reverse of many traditional homes, with a deck, children's play area, and utilities on the ground floor, six bedrooms on the next level up, including five with their own decks, and a glass-walled top floor that holds the living room and kitchen inside, with an infinity pool, firepit, hot tub, and sauna in the social outdoor spaces. The building is primarily constructed from exposed concrete and wood, the latter adding warmth to an otherwise modern affair.Marzena Pieńkowska-Szpunar
RidesMercedes-AMG GT RThe first thing you'll notice about the Mercedes-AMG GT R is its color. Painted a special "AMG green hell magno", it's a nod to the product's development on the "Green Hell" of the Nurburgring, itself a harbinger of the car's singular goal: on-track performance. It's powered by a handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 Biturbo producing 577 hp, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph.Petrocaine
DIYColored Pencils VasesWe’ve already presented you this awesome Colored Pencils Ring, but what this Finnish artist did with a bigger stack of pencils is simply stunning. The ring was a challenge, as many of you remarked, but what about a vase made in the same technique? The rule is similar - the whole procedure begins with gluing pencils together into a solid block form, but the scale requires far more precision. Still, Tuomas Markunpoika is able to create truly impressive works of art. As he wrote on his page “ The flow of each shape unveils a different pattern of the inner structure revealing the beauty of the pencil.”Artur
Home & DesignPLAY with PLYWOOD: Surface Active Structures | Texas A&M UniversityIn fall 2015, for exploring the notion of three-dimensional structures, students in freshman design studios in Department of Architecture at Texas A&M University were asked to design Surface Active Arches by using plywood. One of the most significant discoveries made by students working on these Surface Active Arch Design projects was that changing the materials they used also changed their final forms; their forms were not driven simply by geometry, but also by material properties.user removed
